We are thrilled to announce that our collaborative is partnering with the Sisters of Saint Joseph and Catholic Charities to welcome a refugee family! At this point, we don’t know any details other than it will be a family, but we expect to be matched SOON and look forward to sharing more information with our collaborative community as we have it. This is an exciting opportunity for real hands-on ministry, and there are numerous volunteer opportunities.
Drivers Needed
Our new neighbors are doing so well thanks to the love and generosity of this community! Their oldest child is enrolled in school and also in Religious Ed at Our Lady’s, and dad is back to work after a minor surgery. The refugee ministry is seeking volunteer drivers to help our new neighbors commute to work and go to appointments. If you can volunteer in this joyful ministry, please contact Margaret Roylance ([email protected]).
If you’re not able to be a driver but would like to help, Uber gift cards are extremely helpful and appreciated. These can be dropped off to the parish offices, Attention: Gina Chaimanis.
Please note that the family is coming to the US via a federally funded program that has been in place for over 40 years. They will have had background and medical checks. They will arrive as lawful permanent residents and should be able to work right away (provided their Social Security cards are in hand).
Interested in Putting Your Faith into Action? Please reach out to Gina Chaimanis at [email protected] or Andy Majewski at [email protected]

Would you consider being part of a team that sells Honduran coffee once a month after Mass? It involves a commitment of about 20 minutes after one of the Masses at Our Lady’s. You can sell as an individual, but it’s also a great way to do service as a family, selling together and introducing your children to a wonderful project that supports the families of the coffee grow growers. If you're interested and would like to know more, email Barbara Allaire. We'd love to have you join us!
At Our Lady's contact Kristina for more info.
Can you host coffee hour at Sacred Heart or at Our Lady's one or two weeks in a year (or more)? Coffee hour hosts are responsible for setting up tables and chairs, brewing coffee, putting out and keeping an eye on food supplies, cleaning up, and breaking down tables and chairs.
Please visit our Sacred Heart SignUp Genius page or contact Nick Frega to sign up at Sacred Heart!
