Since 2011, a group of men and women have met monthly from September to May to read about some aspect of our Catholic experience. The Collaborative Book Club is an opportunity to learn, to share our faith, and to enjoy fellowship. Members select titles from works of fiction, spirituality, history, biography, theology, church issues, scripture, and poetry. Books are of reasonable length and readily available. Members are not obliged to read every selection.
Recent readings include:
• The Joy of the Gospel (Evangelii Gaudium) by Pope Francis
• The Duty of Delight: A Biography of Dorothy Day by Jim Forest
• Wrestling With Our Inner Angels by Nancy Kehoe
• Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle
• The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen
• Keys to the Council: Unlocking the Teachings of Vatican II by Richard Gaillardetz
• Jesus Before Christianity by Albert Nolan
• Jesus of Nazareth: What He Wanted, Who He Was by Gerhard Lohfink
• No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam by Reza Aslan
• Poems by Gerard Manley Hopkins
• The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene
• Faith Maps: Ten Religious Explorers from Newman to Joseph Ratzinger by Michael Paul Gallagher
• Holy Saturday: An Argument for the Restoration of the Female Diaconate in the Catholic Church by Phyllis
