The Komi family has moved into their apartment in Roxbury after a packed and joyful eleven days. Here’s a short list of special moments of grace:
· The robust applause at Our Lady’s last Sunday when the family was introduced
· Pickup soccer with local families in Albemarle Park
· Their preparing a delicious Sudanese pork stew with a special mix of spices
· A USA-style barbeque here in Newton with Mujahid’s sister and her family
· Paul so eager to improve his English, studying with a workbook every evening
· Walking with Paul and Mansy along the Charles River—nature is such a healer
· And the many joyful moments all you helpers are having with them
We are gradually learning more about the horrible conditions they have endured as refugees. They will continue to need our prayers and support. The Komi family came to us as strangers; they are our holy family. Your outpouring of generosity is a blessing to them; may it be so for you, too. Enjoy an opportunity to meet the Komi family at our collaborative picnic on September 24th.
