Caste: The Origins of Out Discontents by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabell Wilkerson is the October selection of the Book Club. She looks at the hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings beyond race, class, or other factors, and how it has shaped America today and throughout its history. She links the caste systems of America, India, and Nazi Germany, using riveting stories about people to show how the insidious undertow of caste is experienced every day. She details the consequences in terms of health, our culture, and our politics. And she points to the ways forward that America can move. We will discuss the book using Zoom on Thursday, October 28th, at 7 PM. If you don't currently receive Book Club emails and want to join, contact
