Our Racial Justice Ministry will sponsor the Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir to worship with us at the 4pm Mass at Our Lady’s on
Saturday, October 28
Choir director Meyer Chambers started the group by bringing together a few members of the local Black Catholic community to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in 1992. Over the years, the choir has traveled nationally and internationally. They have sung across the Archdiocese, in the Caribbean, in Ireland, and for Pope St. John Paul II at a general audience at the Vatican. In speaking about his choir, Meyer has said, “Though people love it when we sing concerts, we are at our best when singing the liturgy.” This is a wonderful opportunity to hear these amazing musicians at their best, and we welcome all members of the collaborative to join us at the 4pm Mass on October 28.
A multicultural appetizer reception will follow. For info, e-mail Lija at [email protected].
