On Feb 1-2nd, we will remember St. Blaise, who lived in the third and fourth centuries. St. Blaise is patron saint of those who suffer diseases of the throat; his feast day is February 3. At all Masses next weekend, there will be a general blessing of protection from injuries and illnesses of the throat, followed by individual throat blessings for those who wish to receive one. Note that the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will take place before individual throat blessings.
