Margaret was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but moved with her husband David to Newton immediately after college. They have 3 sons and 2 daughters, and the family joined Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in 1978. She is a materials engineer, retired from government service and currently working on materials for aircraft. At Our Lady's, she is a member of the Baptism ministry, a member of the Parish Child Abuse Prevention Team, a third-grade catechist and a Eucharistic Minister. She has been a member of Voice of the Faithful since 2002 where she has worked to enhance transparency and accountability within the Church. During that time, she has also worked to ensure that the protection of children and of other vulnerable members of our community is a priority at Our Lady's and in our Collaborative.
Margaret has been a member of the Collaborative Pastoral Council since it was established in 2017. She is committed to providing a voice on the Council for the hopes and concerns of any and all parishioners and to finding answers to any questions you may have about the Collaborative or the activities of the Council itself.
