Every three years, the Archdiocese of Boston asks Sacred Heart to select a volunteer in our parish who “has served the parish well over an extended period of time and who has done so in a quiet, unassuming and, perhaps unrecognized fashion.” This person then receives the Cheverus Award from Cardinal Séan at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
This year, the staff has selected
Barbara Hatem for the award, and we are deeply grateful to her for her outstanding service.
Barbara has guided the Guild of St. Francis in coordinating the Holly Harvest Fair for many years. This is one of the largest events the parish has, is a great builder of community and fun, and assists the parish financially. Barbara also volunteers in many other ministries, and her generosity of time and spirit is vital to Sacred Heart.
Please join the Sacred Heart Staff in congratulating Barbara!
